practical gains

Do you recognise yourself in this, or are there still gains to be made?

The alarm clock - 7.00 am: The alarm clock goes off. I look outside to see whether there's a storm blowing or the sun is shining. I’m looking forward to the day and I’m full of energy. I rest a while, next to my partner, and quietly think about my plans for the day ahead. My loved ones are doing well, I’m seizing the opportunities that come my way, I’m performing well at work and I feel appreciated.

The deal - 12.05 pm: Sales meeting. We shake hands and wrap up the meeting. I’ve just concluded a fantastic deal. The customer's extreme focus on costs and frustrating arguments didn’t affect me negatively. I stayed strong, remained in control of the situation and by the end we were both laughing together. I leave the building with a great order in my pocket, filled with a sense of inner peace - and happiness too!

The dining table - 6.00 pm: I get to the day care centre on time. Although I got caught in a traffic jam on the way I didn’t feel stressed. I have no problem leaving the hustle and bustle of the day behind me, and during dinner I’m fully present for my children as well as my partner. We joke and catch up with each other. I've had a great day at work and I’ve got plenty of energy to bathe the children after dinner, put them to bed, read to them, clear up and go running with my friends.
